The Vietnamese Australian Forum acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
As Vietnamese migrants, refugees and relative newcomers to this land, we hope to share with First Nations and non-Aboriginal Australians our stories of alienation, struggle, hope and belonging. We recognise that sovereignty over Country was never ceded, and despite 200 years of ongoing colonisation, First Nations’ culture and connections to Country are still strong. The Vietnamese Australian Forum commits to working towards Treaty and justice with all First Nations people. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Vietnamese Australian Forum takes place and would like to pay respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. The Forum recognises the rich culture and contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander people bring to our communities and their ongoing connection to the land.
